AI Disclaimer
Tono uses artificial intelligence to rewrite and tune messages. AI can make useful suggestions, but it does not understand your complete situation and can produce output that is inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or contextually wrong.
1. How Tono uses AI
Tono sends your message and selected options through a server endpoint to an AI service provider for moderation and generation. The returned versions are generated automatically and are not reviewed by a person before they are shown to you.
Tono instructs the AI to preserve your intent and important details, but those instructions cannot guarantee a perfect result.
2. AI output limitations
Generated output may:
- change or misunderstand the meaning of your original message
- omit important context or add wording you did not intend
- contain incorrect facts, assumptions, commitments, or implications
- sound too formal, too casual, insensitive, or unsuitable for the recipient
- miss cultural, workplace, relationship, humor, or emotional context
- resemble text generated for other users and may not be unique
A polished message is not necessarily a correct or appropriate message. Results can also vary when the same request is submitted more than once.
3. Review before sending
Always compare the generated text with your original message and edit it before use. In particular, verify names, dates, amounts, deadlines, promises, responsibilities, contact details, and any statement that could create a commitment or affect another person.
You are responsible for deciding whether an output is accurate, respectful, lawful, and suitable for your recipient and situation.
4. High-stakes use and professional advice
Tono does not provide legal, medical, financial, tax, employment, human-resources, business, or other professional advice. Do not use generated output as the sole basis for decisions that could affect health, finances, employment, legal rights, safety, or access to important services.
For sensitive or high-impact communication, consult an appropriate qualified professional and review the message with a person who understands the full context.
5. Moderation and safety checks
Tono may use automated moderation to detect certain harmful content. These checks can make mistakes, miss unsafe content, or block content that is not harmful. Passing a moderation check does not mean that a message is accurate, appropriate, lawful, or endorsed by Tono.
6. Your responsibility
You remain responsible for the content you submit, the output you choose, and every message you send or publish. Do not use Tono to create harmful, deceptive, abusive, illegal, or rights-violating communication.
7. Related policies
The Privacy Policy explains how message text and service data are processed. The Terms of Use cover acceptable use, generated output, service limits, and legal terms.
8. Changes and contact
Tono may update this disclaimer as its models, safety systems, or features change. For questions or concerns, email hello@byant.dev.
